Think Smart has influenced my life in many ways. I am sure the experiences and teachings will most definitely impact my college experience for the better. They prepared me to excel beyond my expectations. Think Smart influenced me to make positive and mature decisions about my education and career. I am sure that I will take all that I have learned from Think Smart to college with me! Now to me that is what I call Thinking Smart :)

Think Smart has really had an impact on my life. Before I joined Think Smart, I did not care about my grades and I had no plans of going to college. Soon as I joined the program I fell in love. The college tours and workshops got me thinking college does not seem like a a bad idea. Now its 2 years later and I'm making better grades, staying out of trouble, graduating from high school and about to take my journey to Fayetteville State soon! Thank you Think Smart for everything you have done for me. Ms. Pam, thank you so much for everything. No matter how many times I have come in your office, you always helped me. I promise you that I will come and visit you. I know I am going to be texting you every week while I am in college asking you questions that I should already know the answers to. I love you so much Ms. Pam and thank you once again!

I have been a part of Think Smart since its debut in 2001. As a child you learn things quickly. At the ripe age of eight years old, I decided I was going to be successful. Think Smart's motto is "Reaching for Success on star at a Time". Our summer camp teachers taught us the meaning of being successful and how we could get there. We played educational games and played games that required efficient teamwork. I did not realize it at the time but now I realize that I was learning life skills that I would need for the rest of my life. I am forever grateful to those who were on the staff and made sure that I received the proper information about how I could become the person I dream of being.
My process of deciding what schools to apply to was simple. There was the option of only applying to the school I wanted to attend or applying to multiple schools and getting multiple acceptance letters. I choose the latter. I was always sure about what schools I wanted to go to but for a very short time I let my parents influence me. I remember a discussion from a Pre-Collegiate Workshop about not letting our parents dictate our future. We have to make our own decisions and begin our adulthood. If we let our parents decide everything in college, we will never know how to do things on our own and we wouldn't have the opportunity to enjoy college life. Remembering that was the best thing I could have done. That workshop saved me from making the biggest mistake of my life. Another discussion we had in that workshop was about summer school. In high school, we think of summer school as a remediation from people who failed. In college, summer school is a way for you to get ahead. I started looking for a summer program but I failed in finding one that I could apply to because I was over qualified for the program that I initially wanted to be in. But by me calling the school, my name was put down for a different program. This program that I will be attending June 21st is for freshman engineering majors. I will be taking Calculus 1 and getting ahead of the other engineering majors.
It is because of Think Smart that I fell in love with North Carolina A&T State University. I have always wanted to attend NC A&T. In middle school, I went on a campus tour with Think Smart and I was hooked. This past year I went on another college campus tour of NC A&T with Think Smart and I could see everything from a different point of view. I am older now and understand the concept of growing up and going to college. I feel as if A&T is my home and I cannot wait to go there in June.

Think Smart has impacted my life in a very strong way. By getting involved with Think Smart I was introduced to a lot of new things that I never would of seen if I did not join. I met new friends, met a cousin for the first time, went on college tours and many other things. Think Smart always surrounded me with a positive atmosphere and I really began to respect them and gave them my trust as time went on because I believed they could help me become the first boy in my family to graduate college. I thank Think Smart and hopefully when I make it BIG one day I can come back and help support Think Smart like they supported me!

Since my enrollment of the Think Smart Outreach Program every meeting, tour, and session have impacted my life significantly. While attending multiple college tours, I was able to seek insight into the life of college students. Even though I will not to attend the colleges I visited, the advice I received there will be with me no matter what school I choose to enroll. At the Pre-Collegiate meetings, I obtained significant knowledge about how to balance academics and other extracurricular activities. Without the guidance of Think Smart, I would have truly been lost in the beginning stages of my college process. With the help of Ms. Pam, I actually began to apply for multiple colleges which I did not even believe that I would get into at first. This program gave me the tools to be successful in college. Everything that I have learned has had an immense impact on my life and I hope to continue using these tools given to me at Spelman College in the Fall of 2011.

I joined the program with a great welcome and support from Ms. Pamela Williams and Ms. Nell Williams. They have showed me the way that I feel like the right path for my future career. I had a great opportunity touring colleges that I feel like I could fit into. Think Smart Outreach Center gave me a clear vision of what college is going to be like for me and others. They kept me informed with everything that I needed to know within the program such as: activities, events, and meetings. I am learning how to understand the meaning of being successful in college. I am very thankful for being a part of the Think Smart Family!

Think Smart has been one of many who has influenced my life over the past two years. I have always had my mind set on going to college so Ms. Pam took the time to explain everything to me that I needed to do and the classes I should take. Even though my mind was always set on another university, I am happy that she explained my other choices. Thank you!

Being a part of the the program has had a positive impact in my life tremendously. Before joining, I was very shy girl and at times over-confident. Also, I had moments when I thought more about myself than others. Think Smart has made me see through many community service projects that I should think of others sometimes and that it is not always about me. Throughout my time at Think Smart, I learned how to to be more open and I met many new people. Think Smart is like a family to me; always there to keep me focused. I love how I can call if I ever need some advice about school or last minute recommendation letters! Think Smart will always be a part of my life and I am beyond grateful for everything that was done for me. Thank you so much for everything!

Think Smart Outreach Center has made a huge impact on my life. I have been involved with this organization since its doors opened in 2001. Think Smart has helped me both academically and socially. Through this program, I received tutoring which made a great impact on me being able to maintain satisfactory grades. I have also met a lot of new people and experienced a lot of things that I would have never done if it had not been for Think Smart. Words cannot express how much this organization means to me. Think Smart has made me the person I am today. Because of Think Smart, I had the opportunity to operate my own radio show which led me to deciding my future career goals. I will be forever grateful for all they have done for me.

I am a graduating senior of the Class of 2011 from Harnett Central High School. I am part of the illustrious organization entitled Think Smart Outreach Center. This program has played an essential role in my life thus far. Think Smart has taught me how to become a goal-oriented, responsible young man. When I first joined Think Smart, I had an uncontrollable quick temper but while mentally growing and maturing throughout this program, I have learned how to control my temper. Being in this organization with my peers has taught me how to communicate effectively and efficiently with people around me while keeping my temper in check. I believe that Think Smart is a superb organization for youth of all ages to become better individuals and work at the peak of their potential. I would like to thank Think Smart for blessing me with the Kenneth Andrew "Drew" Watkins III Memorial Scholarship. I am very proud to say that I am a part of the Think Smart Outreach Program and I am greatly appreciative for everything you have done for me!
